Colorss Foundation conducts self-defense workshops for working women and school girls

In the country today, we see an unprecedented revolution emerging, a revolution for change in the way in which women security has been seen. There is an increasing concern for the safety of women in the country. And such is the need of the hour. With the increasing attempts on outraging the modesty of women in the country, it is the duty of not only the individual being attacked but every other citizen of the nation to ensure safety of women around them.

We see so many companies today striving to ensure the safety of their women employees. The way in which the corporate world has accepted its’ responsibility towards their female members is commendable. We see people from all walks of life joining hands to support the cause. In going by its’ tradition of supporting any positive wave of change, the Colorss Foundation conducts self-defense workshops for working women. While it is by no means an altogether solution for attacks on women, self-defense training is a great way for women to protect their basic freedom, for example, acting against any violation of their personal space. The learning that a woman may get from such a workshop would allow her to freely roam around the street without being afraid of being groped physically. For a working woman learning this technique would help her in a situation where she has to leave late at night after work or has to travel alone for work..

Besides the physical benefits such as increased body flexibility, better shape, better body control and discipline, such a workshop would also have Psychological benefits such as increased self-awareness, increased confidence, feeling of security, reduced anxiety. Working women are usually burdened with work related pressures and home related pressures, in such a scenario, the least an employer can do is to make them feel safer physically as well as psychologically. And that is precisely why a self-defense workshop is recommended for every company.
