Background
Colorss Foundation works towards the mainstream integration of the marginalized population through psychological, social and professional training and rehabilitation. Through the broad spectrum of its goal, the foundation handles various disability issues involving physical and mental handicap.

The volunteer opportunity :Website Designer
The organization wants to develop website that focus the youth and encourages disabled people and their family to visit the website. We are looking forward to bring change in perception towards disability. The Web Designer will play a key role in advancing innovations in disability and technology.

Website Designer
Volunteer Position,10-15 hours/week

This opportunity is suitable for someone who is focusing on web designing, graphics, Mass communication and/or creative visualizer.

Primary Responsibilities
The designer works closely with staff members on building new site.

The Web Designer will play a key role in advancing innovations in disability and technology.

a.) Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content.
b.) Ensure that the layout of the content is accessible and logical; recommend improvements if necessary.
c.) Create visual concepts that match the content and the image wanted. Ensure that site is easy to navigate.
d.) Build websites using technologies that conform to international standards and make sure that they are universally accessible.
e.) Provide training on maintenance and update procedures to staff or volunteers who choose to take charge ahead.

Requirements
a.) Experience working in a communications/ public relations environment, particularly in a university setting.
b.) Understanding of XHTML, CSS, and of digital imaging and illustration with Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress and Illustrator. Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, PHP and dynamic HTML; experience with Macromedia Flash.
c.) Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.), highly desirable
d.) Excellent command over English language and grammar.
e.) Ability to work in a team and to communicate in a clear way to provide training to staff and faculty.
e.) Exposure to desktop publishing applications, and photography definite assets.
f.) Strong interest in developmental issues, social change projects and community development.
g.) Comfortable working with sensitive issues
